Norman Reedus Paintings

So I've been working on some more digital painting practice. This time I chose Norman Reedus, who played Murphy MacManus in the Boondock Saints movies. I love his stare, and his squinty eyes with the little bags under his eyes. Hell, I love his eyes in general. Nice face, too.

I chose this one because the stare was the absolute strongest that I could find. I painted this one as I did the Allison painting: I found a good reference image, placed it alongside the left of the canvas as reference, and then painted it in Photoshop.
Of the two of Norman Reedus, this one's my personal favorite.

This one below is my second attempt at  Norman. What can I say, I love his face and wanted to capture it.

I'm personally not as fond of this one. It just doesn't quite capture him as I would like it to. I may revisit it and make some tweaks. Any critique is welcome, on any piece!

Also, side note, I added an artist picture for now. It was a little warmup sketch I did before the second Norman piece. :) It's me in my favorite hoody (minus the evil monkey illustration).

Digital Painting of Allison Harvard from ANTM

Well, since this is an an art blog, I should  probably upload some work to it.

Since my portfolio is a bit lacking in realism and digital painting, I decided to work on some new stuff.

This was a bit of painting/realism practice. I decided to practice on Allison Harvard from America's Next Top Model, Cycle 12, as I think she's adorable. I love her eyes! Lol, yeah, I like ANTM. So, I grabbed a photo of Allison online, and then tried my hand painting it from reference.

Oh hey! I have a blog now! :D

Oh hey! I have a blog now! :D

So a little about me, I graduated from an art school in December of 2010, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. I'm an artist who's passionate about characters. I love designing them, getting into their heads, figuring out what makes them tick. and I love so many types of characters, like the cute sweet characters, to the more demented ones. Seriously, some of my favorite characters range from sweet idiots like Dr. Zoidberg and Ralph Wiggum, to the psychotic, like Eric Cartman. I absolutely love the episode where he makes the kid eat his parents. So my interests vary. I love cutesy things, but I also love the morbid and demented.

I'm currently seeking employment as a 3d animator, or character artist. I'm working to improve myself to accomplish this. I'm also looking for freelance illustration work. You can check out my portfolio at http://StaceyBumber.weebly.com/ So "get on it!"  But seriously, I'm just a character artist looking for a job doing something I love, drawing and/or animating. :)
